When the period of searching for your first student accommodation or applying for a dormitory is over, there is nothing left to do but pack your bags for a new home. Here are some of the important things you should take with you, apart from your bags of clothes of course (not too many).
1. For the bedroom:
- Laptop/computer - a must have device for a student of today. With a laptop you can easily take notes during lectures, do quick research, more thorough and complete coursework, and let's not forget just browsing social media and watching youtube videos for fun.
- Armchair / comfy chair - if the accommodation doesn't have too many furnishings, or in the case of a dorm room, a comfy chair from home or an armchair can provide you with your corner of the room to relax in. Add in a small bedside lamp and a comfy cushion and you have a great place to read a book.
2. For the bathroom:
- Tote/accessory box - dorms often don't have enough shelves in the bathroom and a tote or box can solve the problem of where to keep your shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and other bathroom essentials.
- Comfortable slippers for the bathroom - with them you will be more comfortable in the bathroom, and the chance of slipping and unpleasant injuries in the bathroom is greatly reduced.
3. For the living room and kitchen:
- Small TV - can help to entertain in the evening with some nice series or movie, and also watching interesting shows.
- Kitchen utensils - a few pots and pans are always useful when you are tired of fast food and want to cook something quickly or experiment with a new recipe
- Coffee maker / coffee maker - something almost mandatory for every apartment, which does not need explanation. Almost every person likes to start their day with a cup of aromatic coffee in the morning before lectures/work.
