We have to admit that most apartments are boring. White walls, carpets, outdated cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom. If your apartment is also among the boring ones, why not make it more pleasant and cosy? Here are some ideas:

Paint one of the living room walls a different colour. Properly selected, the colour adds freshness and mood. Of course, if you're renting, discuss this with the owner first to find out if this is allowed. This will ensure that you don't part with any of your deposit afterwards. 

If you can't paint the wall, hang a few pictures or posters. Choose a theme and hang a few posters.

Add more light to the room. Many apartments aren't lit well, and adding light can make the difference between a dull apartment and a cozy one. A lamp or two with a dimming effect can really change the atmosphere.

Put plants or flowers in the corners of the room. Sometimes a single plant can change the overall look of a room and make it more pleasant. Of course don't forget to water it and take care of it regularly.

With these seemingly small improvements and additions that don't require a big budget, you can turn your apartment into a much more pleasant place to live.
