1. Research the market.

Although all three steps are important, the first is the most critical. With a proper understanding of the property market, you will have a very good idea of how much your new home could cost you each month. This way you will know, for example, if 300 leva is a good deal for this particular apartment or if you can find something better for the same money. Another reason to research the market is so you choose the right neighbourhood for you. If you don't have a car for example, there should be public transport stops nearby. And if you own a car, it's a good idea to check if there is enough parking in the area or the possibility of a garage. Proper market research guarantees you a better choice and therefore fewer problems once you move in. 2. Make a list of possible choices.

Once you have identified the areas and apartments you want to live in, it is time to arrange viewings with the owners or the agency you are using. Make a list of the properties that meet your requirements and budget and start viewing with the agency you trust. Make sure you write down all the details that interest you. This will make your next choice much easier and more informed.

3. Make a decision.

Once you have completed the viewings and have understood all the features of the accommodations you are looking at, it is time to make your choice. Consider all the factors: rent, parking, location, public transport stops, nearby shops and any factor that matters to you. Once you've made your choice, look around again before signing the contract. Sign only after you have agreed all the terms with the landlord and they suit you. Having as much information as possible about the home and the landlord will make your decision much easier.
