The number of commissioned residential buildings in the third quarter of 2019 was 740, and the number of newly built dwellings in them ca 2 892. Compared to the third quarter of 2018, the buildings ca 280 more, or c 60.9%, and the dwellings in them increased by c 948, or c 48.8%, the National Statistical Institute said.
Of the new residential buildings commissioned in the third quarter of 2019, those with reinforced concrete construction were 76.6%, those with brick construction - 20.4%, those with other construction - 2.4%, and those with panel construction - 0.6%. The highest relative share of newly built houses (72.2%), followed by housing cooperatives (16.5%). Compared to the third quarter of 2018, there has been an increase in the number of all types of newly constructed dwellings (Table 2 of the Annex).
The largest number of residential buildings was commissioned in the districts of Varna - 134 buildings with 603 dwellings, Plovdiv - 77 buildings with 217 dwellings, Burgas and Sofia - 76 buildings with 764 and 102 dwellings respectively.
The highest share of newly built dwellings with two rooms (38.8%), followed by those with three rooms (31.3%) and the lowest share of dwellings with six or more rooms - 3.4%.
The total usable area of all newly built dwellings in the third quarter of 2019 is 281.5 thousand sqm, or 71.9% more than in the same quarter of 2018, while the residential area increased by 63.2% to 196.1 thousand sqm.
The average useful floor area per newly built home also increased from 84.2 sqm in Q3 2018 to 97.3 sqm in the same quarter of 2019.
The largest average useful area per newly built dwelling was registered in the districts of Silistra - 191.4 sq. m, and Gabrovo - 190.8 sq. m, and the smallest - in the districts of Vidin - 46.0 sq. m, and Razgrad - 71.9 sq. m.
